Well it's official, My SX4 was declared a total loss. I need a 7 passenger, and was looking between a 2014 Ford Flex and a 2014 Pathfinder.
The Flex was a bit cheaper, but found a super clean 2014 pathfinder SL with the tech package with 20000 kms. I just signed the paper work, heading up to Montreal next week to go get her.
here she is

Congrats on the Pathfinder. I think the flex is the better car, but the pathfinder's the better CUV.

Not as bummed as I am, Loved my SX4, just out grew it. And we needed a 7 passenger soon, but with the insurance payout giving me more than what I payed new, now is the time to upgrade to a 7 passenger. But when it will be time to replace my wife's 2011 elantra, I will get something small, manual and awd for me.

I hate Ford and I hate CVT. I was going for the Flex, but since this will end up being my wifes car in a few years, we went for the Pathfinder. She couldn't get pas the Flex's looks.
I tried a 2015 AWD Pathfinder SV just to show my girlfriend how bad the CVT is, but Wow.
I liked the smooth feeling it has, I was actually impressed, I was expecting a Crappy CVT like the sentra, or versa, but not the same thing, not the same feeling.
A brand new Pathfinder was just too much, so I found a 2014 SL with leather, and the Tech package(gps 8 inch touch screen, sub...) Low millage and about 12000$ cheaper than new.

I was just going to ask you if you had bought the flex yet. I see that you have done well. $12K off a 2 year old car is great man!!!! :D
I also think it's funny you call going to Montreal up, when clearly it is down if north is up, as we arbitrarily know it to be hahahah.

You and your logic!... Yeah I should of said down south....
I Couldn't sell the Flex to my wife, even after a test drive. Like I said to G-body, i only went to test drive the path to eliminate it in front of my wife, but was actually surprised by the CVT. So I told my self instead of buying a new pathfinder sv, might as well find a slightly used SL and I wanted the tech package(GPS, touchscreen, sub....) cheaper than the SV, and I basically got the same warranty since I got it certified by Nissan.
So next Tuesday I'm taking the bus from rouyn at 9:30 pm, arrive in downtown MTL at 6:30 am, take the metro(subway) to the bus stop to Brossard, then take a bus to the dealer. Wait and eat at the Tim hortons beside the dealer until they open at 9am, test drive, sign the paperwork then drive it back up(happy now :)) to rouyn.

That's good. That's going to be a hell of a bus ride, I am envious of your car, but certainly not of the bus ride haha.
I still hope to make it up to the far norths of Quebec at some point, but it won't be this year.
Glad you found something that works for you!!!! Oppo review once you've broken er in.

To tell you the truth, A 7 passenger was a major compromise. I still want a small awd manual. But when with 2 kids, and more to come I had to make sacrifices.
I still have my manual 97 TJ sahara riding on 35's for my summer fun though.
The Pathfinder will end up being for the family, and we will sell her car a one point and get myself my small awd manual again.
